
Chief Magistrate Judge
In 1998 Joy Parks was appointed Chief Magistrate by Superior Court Judges of the
Enotah Judicial Circuit. In the following election, she ran for the position and
was elected the County’s Chief Magistrate Judge. Judge Parks obtained her
undergraduate degree from the University of Georgia, a Juris Doctorate degree
from Mercer University School of Law, and her LLM from the University of
Nottingham England. She has been a practicing attorney in White County since
1993.
Magistrate Judge
Corey Hyde was appointed by Judge Parks as a full-time Magistrate Judge in 2003.
Judge Hyde is a graduate of White County High School, and he obtained a degree
in Political Science at the University of Georgia. Judge Hyde was the
supervising probation officer for a private probation company in White County
for approximately five years prior to his appointment to the bench.
Clerk of Magistrate Court
Dena Adams was appointed as the Clerk of the Magistrate Court in 1998. She is
life-long resident of White County. Ms. Adams began her career as an employee
in the White County Clerk’s Office in 1989 and succeeded the previous Clerk of
the Superior Court in 1998. She is a White County High School graduate and has
completed the Clerk’s Certification Program with the University of Georgia Carl
Vinson Institute of Government. Mrs. Adams also serves as Clerk for the
Superior and Juvenile Courts, along with partial Probate Court duties.
