Mission Statement

 

White County’s Mission is to provide outstanding customer service and to improve facilities and infrastructure to allow our community to be the best place to live, work, and play.

To provide public works services that are safe, effective, and efficient that support the strategic plan, values, and vision of White County.

 

Scope of Responsibilities

 

The White County Public Works Department is responsible for the management, development, construction, and maintenance of the following assets:

  • 59 miles of Gravel Roads
  • 200 miles of paved roads
  • 29 bridges and box culverts
  • 940 acres of right-of-way
  • 520 miles of roadway drainage ditches and culverts
  • Roadway signage
  • Maintenance of 159 units of equipment and tools

 

Citizens may report roadway issues or concerns by submitting a Public Works service request, or by calling Public Works at (706)-865-2510. 

Normal business hours are Monday through Friday 7:30AM until 4:00PM.
