Public Notice – Board Vacancy
The White County Board of Commissioners will be accepting applications for appointment to the Board of Elections & Registration until Friday, July 2, 2021 at 5:00 p.m.
This will be to fulfill the remainder of a four-year term to expire December 31, 2024.
The White County Board of Elections & Registration will be responsible for conducting fair and impartial elections and registering local residents to vote – all within prescribed federal, state, and local laws. This is an advisory board which assists with department related decision making on elections, events, and other important items with regards to elections and registration. The Board performs all services and functions necessary to support the election process.
Qualifications of board members are as follows:
- Must be a resident of White County;
- Must be registered to vote;
- Must be available to attend training required by O.C.G.A § 21-2-100; and
- Must be available to meet, at a minimum, on a quarterly basis.

Public Notice – Board Opportunities
The White County Board of Commissioners will be accepting applications for the following board appointments until Friday, June 11, 2021 at 5:00 p.m. If you are a resident of White County and are interested in serving on any of the following boards – you may obtain an application for board appointment at the White County Board of Commissioners Office, 1235 Helen Hwy Cleveland, GA 30528 or by phone at 706-865-2235 or at www.whitecounty.net/government/boards-and-authorities.
AVITA Community Partners Board: The appointee (1) must be able to attend meetings at the Administrative Office in Flowery Branch on the fourth Wednesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. The AVITA Community Partners Board is seeking a board member with some business expertise and compassion towards individuals, families and communities with mental health, developmental disabilities, addictive diseases, and related needs. This appointment will be for a three year term expiring June 30, 2024.
White County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors: The appointee (1) must be able to attend meetings on the second Wednesday of each month at 8:00 a.m. at the Chamber Office, have an expertise in business, and be able to be involved with Chamber events. This appointment will be for a two-year term to expire June 30, 2023.
White County Development Authority: The appointees (2) must attend meetings held on second Tuesdays at least quarterly at 4:30 P.M. at the County Administration Building. The board members should be pro-active in representing White County’s interests in economic development. Appointments will be for a six (6) year term – expiring June 30, 2027.
White County DFACS Board: The appointee (1) must be able to attend meetings at the White County DFACS Office the second Wednesday of each month at 1:30 p.m. This appointment will be for a five-year term to expire June 30, 2026.
